DVD CD Replication Processes

DVD and CD Replication has come a long way since the introduction of this media, quite a few years ago now although the time has flown since the days of the floppy disc.  You may remember that a floppy disc could hold around 1 megabyte of data, with the HD versions holding around twice as much but not as many machines could read them.

With CDs and DVDs  the amount of data is exceedingly large compared to media around before hand with CD’s holding in general, 600-700 megabytes , once you take into consideration the file structure if being used for a PC and DVDs storing over 4 gigabytes of data.

This is why DVD CD Replication became in increasingly popular process for individuals and companies as the data was huge, they could replicate discs for many purposes. There are two methods which are known as short run and long run duplication. Short run is what we do to CD and DVDs whereas long run is more of a manufacturing process.

CD DVD Replication can take a few minutes on a standard PC with the correct software and hardware, with DVD replication taking a little longer due to the size increase in the media capacity.
