Throughout the year the school schedule is opened up for student breaks. The concept is somewhat unusual because the idea behind education is to prepare us for adult life. And really, there is seldom a time in adulthood when our employer says “Hey, why don’t you take a couple weeks off and have a beach party with your mates”. It is definitely a welcomed occasion for students when break comes around. The school semesters are often structured around the breaks so there is often a significant push to complete major projects right before break. The result is an open armed embrace of the free time that is looming on the horizon.
There are lots of activities that might be planned for school holidays. Some students are dependent on the time off from school because it enables them to engage in some money earning. With the proper planning, a student might be able to step into their job full time to accelerate their earnings while school is out of session. Other breaks are reserved for straight up rest and relaxation. There is value in the approach because the social engagements that rock the school breaks might help a student focus on their schoolwork when returning to campus. A balanced strategy that embraces partying and working in equal measure will serve a student admirably.
